Lyndon,

The legal definition I originally sent you (see 2-3-00a) of "integrated pest management" came from FS 482.021(14) and is the only definition of the term in the Florida Statutes. FIFRA also has a definition of the term, stating that "Integrated Pest Management is a sustainable approach to managing pests by combining biological, cultural, physical, and chemical tools in a way that minimizes economic, health, and environmental risks." 7 USC sec. 136r-1. Arnold Cooperman - Florida Division of Statutory Revision was kind enough to supply me with this definition. Arnold can be reached @ COOPERMAN.ARNIE@leg.state.fl.us

Lyndon, my question to you is very simple - "Are you going to implement the federal statutes clearly defined in FIFRA and allow the use of alternative tools to safely and effectively control pest problems in California, or will you still demand that only your "registered" POISONS can be used to try to "control" pests?

Respectfully, Stephen L. Tvedten
