Stossel must think we can't think for ourselves. Sure since the use of antibiotics in animals they probably poop out more resistant strains. We should be more concerned with produce grown contaminated with human waste. Some imported produce is grown in less than hygenic conditions. Patricia.

Steve,

This John Stossel 'report' prompted me for the very first time to contact a television station (via email screen on their website). What follows is a transcript of my email. I have yet to recieve a response from the station or the reporter. You may share this email with them, if you chose to contact ABC.

Subject: ABC 20/20 Broadcast of 'How Good Is Organic Food' 2/4/00

"What an irresponsible and dangerous report you did this week on 20/20 (HOW GOOD IS ORGANIC FOOD 000204). To state that "If we've got no deaths from pesticides....." shows a lack of search on the part of ABC. This is a false and inaccurate statement.

Both my children are legally certified as pesticide sensitive. They must avoid ANY PESTICIDE EXPOSURE including those found in foods.

A better story would have been, why hasn't anyone reported on the U.S. Congress' efforts to pass SEPA (School Environment Protection Act of 1999 - sb 1716, hr 3275). Here true experts spoke on the true impact of pesticides on the health of children.

Shame on you!

I look forward to your reply, Veronika Carella 410-489-5495"
