Integrated Pest ManagementDear Lyndon, I read with interest the following letter: CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PESTICIDE REGULATION NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION TO REGISTER A PESTICIDE PRODUCT CONTAINING PROCESSED FREE GLUTAMIC ACID (MSG) FOR USE ON GRAPES.
According to a California Department to Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) Notice of Proposed Decisions to Register Pesticide products published on February 11, 2000, the CDPR proposes to approve the spraying of processed free glutamic acid (MSG) on grapes, including grapes to be used for producing wine.
The product to be approved ( I believe the word is "registered") is called AuxiGro WP Metabolic Primer (AuxiGro), manufactured by Auxein Corporation. AuxiGro contains 29.2% processed free glutamic acid (MSG) that is manufactured by the same methods used to manufacture the processed free glutamic acid (MSG) found in the food ingredient "monosodium glutamate."
Although glutamic acid is listed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an active ingredient of AuxiGro, glutamic acid is not mentioned in the CDPR Notice.
You can protest the approval (I believe, the word should be "registered".) of glutamic acid to be sprayed on grapes or on crops in any form through March 14, 2000 --

Well Lyndon, I see that once again you do not feel that it is important for the people of California to have all of the facts regarding your "registered" POISONS. But, are you now ignoring the active ingredients too?
Respectfully, Stephen L. Tvedten
