Dear Lyndon, If you read the following URL that Eve Wuebben just sent me, you will see a draft of an executive order by Bill Clinton written last December and not yet signed. It is about the "greening of government" and orders a reduction in the use of toxic chemicals in all federal buildings. While this will be phased in gradually, there is a portion which states that, by the end of THIS YEAR, all offices must PHASE OUT THE USE OF ALL OF YOUR "REGISTERED" ORGANOPHOSPHATE AND CARBAMATE PESTICIDE POISONS!

Well Lyndon, What are you waiting for? If you need some chutzpa to stand up for what is right, I would like you to read something from Ralph Waldo Emerson, who once stated: "The wise man in the storm prays to G-d, not for safety from danger, but for deliverance from fear. It is the storm within that endangers him, not the storm without." I would also like to add that while you sit there doing nothing to find any "legal" alternatives --- it is the people who are endangered by your mandate that it is only "legal" to use your "registered" POISONS to "control" pest problems in California! "Someone" needs to get some guts and go GREEN!

Respectfully, Stephen L. Tvedten.

(Editor's Note:  Maybe after the pesticides and chemicals are cleaned out of government offices some clear and "precautionary" thinking can finally take place.  Does anyone know the cite on the law that allows citizens to sue public employees for malfeasance?)
