Dursban Label Changed-----
Now Extremely Toxic-----
[ Back to Article ]
More than eye irritation is the nervous system toxicity.
While TOX I Danger Label is better it only begins to describe the
problems with Dursban entry into homes from termite applications.
This situation is the same type of problem that forced chlordane off of
the market.
Remember that Dursban has three chlorine atoms and breaks down to 3,5,6,-trichloropyridinyl (3,5,6-TCP) which is fat soluble. Thus Dursban metabolite will reside in fat for long time. Dursban should be eliminated from market since much less toxic chemicals like Tim-Bor are already on the market which are not volatile.
