Dear Lyndon, Don Paladin and I thought you might like to read an article that appeared April 5, 2000, entitled: Halifax eyes banning pesticides by 2005 - By STEVE MAICH -- Halifax Chronicle Herald.

Halifax Regional Municipality took a big step toward banning residential pesticides Tuesday.

Regional council went against the recommendation of staff and asked for a draft pesticide bylaw to phase in limits on residential lawn and garden chemicals over four years, ending with a ban by 2005.

Lyndon, Here's another excellent one that covers Halifax and also mentions municipalities in Ontario and Quebec that have recently banned the use of cosmetic pesticides:

Well Lyndon, I'm sure there are many others.  When will it be "legal" (in your opinion) to use safe and far more effective alternatives to actually control pest problems in California?

Respectfully,  Stephen L. Tvedten
