Re:
Use Common Sense in Spraying for West Nile Virus
http://www.newsday.com/coverage/current/editorial/friday/nd4662.htm
Dear Editor,
You should be ashamed of your latest editorial regarding
the use of dangerous pesticides to kill mosquitoes. The cure will harm many more
humans, living and yet to be born, than you can ever imagine -- many more than
get effected by West Nile virus. There is no registry for people suffering from
this kind of spraying. Consider those whose immune systems can't afford a hit of
pesticides, and that there isn't any refuge to escape this seriously misguided
use of pesticides. When the eminent scientists formulated many of these
chemicals they did so during war time to kill and maim enemy soldiers, and they
did kill and maim very well. What sense does it make to use similar deadly toxic
chemicals on untold numbers of human victims. Chemical companies have duped
mainstream America into trusting these killer chemicals without regard for the
natural balance of life -- human,
animal, insect, plant, and all beneficial organisms. Also consider that your
information on these deadly chemicals comes from the very same people that
produce them and have a financial interest in their continued use. Any number of
toxicologists may have told you the spraying is safe, but during their education
and training they were influenced very heavily by the chemical industry. And,
through the revolving door between industry and governmental agencies such as
EPA, FDA, and USDA, the chemical industry insures that they are able to continue
their toxic legacy.
Thank you,
Paul
