Dear Mr. Helliker, I thought you might like to read the following article on rat mammary tumors induced by several of your "registered" POISONS:
G. Cabello et al. 'A Rat Mammary Tumor Model Induced by the O-Phosphorous Pesticides Parathion & Malathion, Possibly Through AchE Inhibition' _Env. Health Perspect's_:109:471-9 (5/'01)...
...finds that S-D female rats exposed to 17 ( malathion) & 250 (parathion) ppm body-concentrations undergo proliferation of their mammary gland terminal end-buds (TEBs) and then develop breast cancers there (an ideal model--at a point in puberty, these cells are naturally the most proliferative in the breast, e.g. when dosed w/ even stronger carcinogens, 100% of dosed S-D & Fischer 344 rats develop breast cancer tumors!). Such rat tumors "have features in common w/ most frequently observed tumors in humans.". Proliferation indicators also were found in exposed cultured *human* breast cells.
A classic AchE inhibitor, eserine, had a similar effect, while the AchE inhibition antidote, atropine, had the opposite effect (allowed the normal conversion of TEBs to alveolar ducts). TEB proliferation and AchE inhibition correlated well. The AchE inhibition persisted at least 3 months in these experiments, consistent w/ other reports of long-running tolerance for cholergenic agonists. Also, young age has been shown to incr. suscept. to AchE inhibition.
This research is fascinating, as it implies that all AchE inhibiters, incl. all O-P's & carbamates (and other chemicals), are carcinogenic (by some nervous system-connected mechanism!) Some connection between cholergenic stimulation (ie AchE inhibition) and cell proliferation must exist!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well Mr. Helliker if all of your "registered" organophosphate POISONS and/or carbamate POISONS are carcinogenic, that would clearly help explain our high rates of childhood cancer. When a person in a fit of rage, kills even a very bad person, they call this act murder. When the POISON "industry" premeditarily and cold-bloodily poisons hundreds of thousands of innocent people a little bit, every day and then finally kills thousands of these innocent souls with their "registered" pesticide POISONS, they call this "sound science"! Edmund Burke once noted: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." I would like to add "or say nothing." When will it be 'legal" (in your opinion) to use safe and far more effective (unregistered) alternatives to actually control pest problems?
Respectfully, Stephen L. Tvedten
