Freedom of Information Act Regarding Actions Against Alternatives

I am curious as to what you are being sued for and by which regional office. As a person who enforces registration requirements, I spend my time focusing on those companies that are either using toxic chemicals or products that are making public health claims that are fraudulent.

RESPONSE:

Dear Amy, I am not being sued personally - but, I have several friends who make or sell several products, that I have recommended can be used as alternatives to pesticides, are in the process of being fined and/or threatened for selling "unregistered pesticides".  These friends have carefully not made any pesticidal claims regarding their products.  Even so, the EPA enforcement officer involved has clearly told them if they or anyone says you are washing your hands with (their) soap and water in order to wash away the dirt that contains germs - their company can be fined many thousands of dollars for selling an "unregistered pesticide".  The officer has also specifically said that if you say you use mayonnaise to remove lice you must register the mayonnaise as a pediculicide POISON!  This is insanity!   I read where the Republicans are trying to remove a great number of EPA's enforcement officers - when I see this harassment of innocent people - I tend to agree.  How are such "enforcement" policies protecting the environment or the public?  Steve

Get a lawyer! The only sane way you can deal with EPA is through lawyers I hate to say.

That is unless you know members of the California congressional delegation and US senators.
