Steve: I was stunned to learn about the "sovereign immunity" defense the state of Florida is using against Dr. Shafey. I'd never heard of this before. Wasn't it because of something very much like sovereign immunity that Americans declared independence from the Brits? One of the most fundamental principles on which the U.S. was founded was freedom from injustice. In fact, according to my knowledge of American history, freedom from injustice was the nation's keystone legitimation principle, i.e. the principle which the founders invoked to justify America's very existence as an independent nation to the rest of the world. If it's correct that states are immune from legal action by individuals, then the old, noble America of Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln has truly ceased to exist. And the people who claim that the U.S. is no longer a democratic republic, but has become a tyrannical corporate plutocracy--these people are right. The implications are almost too horrifying to think about. . . Joe
As Gulf War veterans Advocate, There are similar events that happened to us. Dr. Moss from florida found that the PB-Pill and Deet had Nerve problems associated with service in the gulf war. He was Discharged from his postion also !
Now the U.S. Government says that there was excessive use of Pesticides During the Gulf War. And No Treatment to date. Just Exercise and Stress relief ?

1989 & was allowed to see the woes of the State of Florida. The Epidemiologist for Bay County at the time took samples at our home, only to go to the local exterminator that misapplied the pesticides, the state worker was William (Bill) Page. Somehow samples disappeared & Mr. Page did not know what happened to them, we were truly able to see the workings of the State of Florida, & to think they are to protect us is a joke...to pad their pockets is more like it. I spoke with a physician that was a VA physician about the Gulf War Symdrome, & he did not believe in the exposures.....however, we know it is true because when we read the symptoms of the victims, it was the same symptoms our family had documented years ago after our exposure.....bless all of you & shame on the government & the state government to allow such happenin! gs, it is truly a disgrace.
