Officials considering pesticide bylaw
CP
CALGARY -- Calgary officials are considering whether the city needs a bylaw limiting pesticide use by homeowners.
It's being debated by a city parks committee.
It's estimated that Calgary homeowners use four times the amount of pesticide that the city does.
Sierra Club spokeswoman Barb Kinney says she'd prefer education over a bylaw.
But she says legislation is quicker than education.
Kinney says education without commitment does very little.
The city has cut its use of pesticides in half over the last three years.
