CHILD DIES FROM ACCIDENTAL SWALLOWING OF PESTICIDE

Roja, 5 year daughter of Rajappa from Chinthamani in Karnataka died on Tuesday, 22nd January by accidentally putting the syringe used to give pesticide injection to Coconut trees.

Roja was playing in front of her house . A syringe inserted to the coconut tree in front of the house attracted her attention . Poor child picked it up, put it in her mouth and started licking it. Once the parents knew of the accident, she was rushed to the hospital, but in vain.

It is to be recalled that to control mite problem in coconut that is rampant in these areas , agri dept is advocating Nuvacron stem injection .
