Dear Mr. Helliker,  I thought you might like to read a follow-up e-mail I just received:

Dear Steve,

Had a phone call today from another case which was running outside of the group Organophosphorus action here in the UK .

This case concerned a man poisoned while marking out sports fields using a mixture of Roundup and the whitening agent. He says he is happy for his name to be given but I have no wish to make him too easy a target.

It seems that the mixture when used in metal application machines produced the deadly phosphine gas - a little publicised property of organophosphorus compounds when making contact with acid, alkali or metals.

The man is now disabled for life, like too many of us, and was taking action against his employer with supporting evidence from a scientist.

He tells me that yesterday he had a visit from his legal team who say that the scientist claims illness as the reason why he will not now give his evidence.

It was no surprise to hear that the lawyers found another so called scientist here in the UK who denies that such actions can take place and as a result the case is now closed. The man was exposed again recently simply by opening his front door when chemicals used nearby blew towards his home.

He is now sensitised to a wide variety of chemicals with OPs or hydrocarbons in the formulations and suffers from an extremely debilitating form of what has been diagnosed as ME / CFS but in reality he suffers the known symptoms of poisoning.

Incidentally I received the following extract from a scientist working on a Cot Death case. It would seem that the reaction between an OP and stomach acid created a deadly gas. The nature of that gas is not reported but is most likely to have been phosphine don't you think? Does this mean that a terrorist with suicidal intent does not require a supply of Sarin to cause mayhem?

It is a wicked, wicked, world when such deadly chemicals are protected by Governments who have a duty to protect their people from noxious substances.

All the best, Richard.

Found while away in general text was this The Encyclopedia of Forensic Science edited Brian Lane 1992 Page 316 Poisons Phosphorus (Yellow)

Rarely encountered these days outside the chemistry laboratory, since the use of yellow phosphorus in the manufacture of matches and in rat poison has been prohibited - followed by more information then a para on OP insecticide of some description - identity not clear as below In July 1991 the Perth , Australia , newspapers carried the story that two hospitals and a number of streets were evacuated when lethal fumes leaked from a body carried between the buildings. The corpse was that of a man who had committed suicide by ingesting phosphorus insecticide which had reacted with his bodily fluids to create a poisonous gas. Fire officials in protective clothing and masks neutralised the gas, while the ambulancemen transporting the body were given emergency oxygen treatment.

Well Mr. Helliker,  George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff once noted: "If you help others, you will be helped. Perhaps tomorrow, perhaps in a hundred years, but you will be helped. Nature must pay off the debt. It is a mathematical law and all life is mathematics."  I would like to add that this formula also works in reverse, if you harm others (knowingly or unknowingly) you will be harmed - what goes around, comes around.  Please protect the people and not the POISON "industry" profits!

Respectfully,  Stephen L, Tvedten
