EPA backs off spray drift guidelines

Controversial label language regarding spray drift that was being considered by EPA is being reconsidered by the agency. Under pressure from industry and congress, EPA backed of the original proposal, and will eventualy propose new guidelines.

The proposed language would, if followed literally, have made it nearly impossible to legally treat around residences due to unrealistic standards for drift and buffer zones.

Maryland pesticide bill killed

The Maryland pesticide security bill, HB 809, which would have mandated, among other things, criminal background checks for chemical applicators, has been killed. A variety of Green Industry advocates helped defeat the measure.
