Dear Steve:

Here's some information that's not well-known, but should be posted in front of every pesticide-using golf course in the country:

A study of 686 deceased members of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America who died between 1970 and 1992 showed colon cancer rates of 1.75 times the national average, brain cancer and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma rates over twice the national average, and prostate cancer rates nearly three times the national average.

(That's right, this information has been available for more than five years.)

Regards,

Joe
