The Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides in Paris
Saint Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec - September 19, 2002 - The Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides (CAP) has been invited to give testimony of their accomplishments and share their knowledge at a Press Conference in Paris, on September 20, 2002 at 10:00 AM. Mr. Hubert Reeves will preside over the Press Conference.
The President of CAP, Mrs. Edith Smeesters, will speak of the dangers of pesticides and their effects on many Quebecois who suffer from exposure to pesticides, victims of hypersensitivity or other connected illnesses. She will relate the situation in Quebec, with the new Code of pesticides, proposed by the Minister of Environment, Mr André Boisclair. The different solutions utilised in the Urban setting will be shared, starting with the Principle of Bio-diversity.
The leadership of Mr. Boisclair regarding pesticides has already had effects over-seas and has positioned Quebec as a leader to be followed in this field.
