Dear Steve, Do you know that in Pensacola Florida, and in many parts of Florida and Alabama, in every town and city along the northwest panhandle of the Gulf, is sprayed everyday, for mosquitoes from May through October. In Pensacola, the mosquito trucks start spraying at 5:00PM. My neighborhood is sprayed at least twice a month. This has been going on for over 30 years. Until two years ago they sprayed us with Malathion. Now they use Permethrin, Kontrol 4 -4.There is no prior notice and most people don't even know what they are being exposed too. The FLorida Department of Agriculture routinely aerial sprays beaches for dog flies, always during the day. No prior notice. They just fly down the beach and drop Naled on people. Have you ever see the MSDS for Dibrom Consentrate. That's what they drop on sun bathers (naled). People don't even know ! they have been sprayed with pesticides. They wouldn't get out of the way even if they wanted to because the planes appear out of no where. I want the rest of the country to know what goes on down here in Florida. The only way to change this sorry state of affairs is for people to start boycotting Florida. The other thing people should be aware of is lawn spraying with what is called a three in one. Pesticide, herbicide, fungicide. The turf grass all over the common areas and around the condos and motels is routine sprayed during the day by our government. I have pictures of children rolling in grass that was just sprayed with pesticides. Pictures of people walking in the treated grass. People need to know that Florida is a toxic dump site - the whole state. How can we get this info out to the public. Sherri Myers, Advocacy for the Chemically Sensitive
Dear Shem, You must certainly realize that if the POISON spraying really worked to "control" flies and/or mosquitoes, "they" would only have to do it once. My family all were bitten very badly in Florida after "their nightly control" efforts. There are many other safe and effective controls in my mosquito chapter given for free at: http://thebestcontrol.com. We no longer have mosquito or fly problems using these safe but unregistered controls. You must ask yourself why "our" Government is so against safe and far more effective controls.
