Both on the week they published the genome of the malaria mosquito vector Anopheles g., and the week before, the journal Science had some good reporting and research on insecticide resistance. You really mustn't miss 'Insecticide Resistance on the Move', 27 Sep. '02, p. 2222-3 (reporting on research on p. 2253), for its fascinating summaries of advances on this critical pesticide subject. In the /Anopheles/ issue of 4 Oct. '02 there's also the commentary 'An Overview of Insecticide Resistance', p. 96-7; and several other pieces on insecticide and chloroquine (the malaria drug) resistance.
