Get Set's Proposal
to Fontana Unified School District for True Pest Management Program a pest
management program without pesticides or volatile chemicals:
Questions have been asked of the California Department of Pesticide
Control since Fontana Unified School District declined to consider a pesticide
free IPM program because of the Department of Agriculture's opinion about
only utilizing registered pesticides to eliminate pests. The California
Department of Pesticide Regulation has remained silent and not responded
to these issues:

Dear Mr. Wilkie:
Thank you for talking with me the recently. Your interest in using
Integrated Pest Management® (IPM) Pest control in the Fontana unified
School System is most appreciated. Following is our cost program
for the Get Set Intelligent Pest Management® (IPM) Program we have
specifically designed for the Fontana unified School System to safely
control all of your pest problems without using any volatile, synthetic
pesticide poisons.
We spend 3 hours or more putting on an in-service program to train your
unionized maintenance, dietary and custodial staff on how they personally
can use simple non-toxic controls (e.g., vacuums, enzymes, habitat reduction,
baby powder, sanitation, caulk, etc.) to control any pest problems at school
and at their homes. After conducting an in-service program with maintenance,
custodial, grounds and dietary, we properly install negative ion plates
and/or install any number of
various combinations of the safer, alternative IPM controls we have
developed to replace the dangerous use of volatile, synthetic pesticide
poisons in your schools to eliminate or significantly reduce the incidence
of all insect infestations. We will work throughout the year with
your custodians and staff on any remaining problem areas.
Second, we install a master IPM planner (CD-ROM) called The Best Control in the principal's (and/or head custodian's) office and school libraries and carefully instruct all your people on its use. In addition, we are in constant phone contact with all of your in-house people, personally directing them as they perform any non-toxic control programs, inspections, etc. via our 1-800-221-6188 Wats line. This CD-ROM may be used by anyone in the Community to solve their own pest problems.
Third, if you wish we can also conduct in-service programs for the principals, teachers and staff explaining how and why you wanted us to protect you without using any dangerous, volatile, synthetic pesticide poisons. We also have optional seminars or educational presentations for students and/or PTA assemblies. Fourth, as a last resort, we will personally come to solve any "unsolvable" insect problems you may have with non-toxic or least-toxic controls.
Unlike other pest control companies that routinely use dangerous, synthetic pesticide poisons to try to "control" a few specific pests, we guarantee in writing that we will safely control all of the insects, e.g., termites, ants, mites, lice, pantry pests, crickets, fleas, roaches, spiders, wasps, etc., inside your school system without the use of any dangerous, volatile, synthetic pesticide poisons, e.g., organophosphates, pyrethroids and/or carbamates. In addition, we will direct your people as they use The Best Control Master IPM Planning CD-ROM to safely control any and all other pests, e.g., rodents, deer, raccoons, skunks, weeds, moles, etc., you may encounter in or around the premises. We will teach you non-toxic and non-pesticide alternatives for non-selective weed control. We also will advise you on all of your landscape problems and concerns and help you purchase the best organic fertilizers.
Our all inclusive bid is $1,200 per year for each school with over 500
students. There are no additional charges for administration buildings,
modulars, bus garages, etc. There are also no extra charges
for parent notification, or for any analysis of causes or conditions conducive
to pest infestation. This quote includes termite control either pre-
or post construction, and 5 gallons of enzymes for each school and as much
Not Nice to Lice® Shampoo as you require. Here are four references
