TOPMy sister is a nurse at a hospital and scabies has hit a lot of the floor, and staff. We are cleaning our house, and everything we have been in contact with. My question for you is, If I sit on a chair, and then on a couch, is or can it transfer? What about school?? And work?? Can it get on chairs and clothing there. The hospital workers were
first told you had to have 5 minutes, of continual contact skin to skin, for it to spread, and now are being told, that it can transfer other ways, can you give us more details, they are of no help

Hillary,
These creatures have 8 legs and move very slowly. However, they can be brushed off onto other surfaces, including people.
I have never heard of the 5 minute rule. However, many doctors still believe that they are sexually transmitted. Of the thousands of people we've talked to many have claimed to pick them up from surfaces.
20 Mule Team Borax in the wash and for a bathtub soak for people has proven to be excellent. For ideas about nontoxic pest control you might want to download Steve Tvedten's book "The Bug Stops Here". It is located at http://www.thebestcontrol.com
