For what it's worth, I thought I'd share for any new people or maybe people still looking for a natural or new treatment, that my husband feels pretty convinced that an enzyme rinse that we used was the key to killing off the scabies.
We used 3 different treatments, tea tree oil, sulphur ointment and the enzyme rinse. I was so freaked out by having this I wanted to try anything and everything that would work! So we did one right after the other. We didn't have the patience, information or security to try just one and see what happened.
Now in a way, I am curious to know, would one of them have worked just by itself? Would all of them have worked just by themselves?
If you're looking for convenience then by far the fastest and most convenient method is the enzyme rinse. You lather it on, let it dry, rinse it off in the shower and then repeat in 24 hours and then you're done.
It was the last of the things we tried, so we'll never know which of the three (or if it was the combo) did the trick. But my husband feels like it was the enzymes and I defintely didn't notice an end to the crawling feeling and the original spread of bumps until after the enzyme rinse.
I don't know about studies, and I know everyone is different, but I've gotten a lot out of this board and I just thought I should say this if maybe it might save someone a lot of trouble and time and work for them right off the bat.
If I were to do it all over, that first day of treatment, I would try the enzyme system and see if it worked and then proceed from there.
