recluse spider

11/29/99
My name is Greg, I have a small business that is opperated from my home.  We live outside of town and have several acres and a couple of horses.  I built my horses a rough cut cedar fence and stables.  I believe that the cedar, when brought to our home for installation was infested with both the powder post beetle and the brown recluse spider.  The spiders have moved into the house,   and since I am an insulin dependent diabetic, I am concerned.  Not to mention that the only thing that I fear is things with 8 legs.  Is there any help?

Response:

Dear Greg, The best control for spiders is to vacuum them up and/or trap them with glue traps.  Powder Post beetles can be safely and permanently controlled with borax and/or sodium borate.  Both controls are fully explained in my cd-rom called THE
BEST CONTROL.  Steve
