Hi Sally,How long ago was this friend in your home?If your son has never had scabies,then it would take 4 to 6 weeks for symptoms to show up(ie-itching and rash).If he has had them before then it would be a matter of days for the symptoms to show.The symptoms show quicker the second time around.Are these bites itchy on your son?If they are it could be a number of things(fles bites,mosquito bites,heat rash etc)To be absolutely sure,take him to your doctor and have him tested.Whatever you do don't treat him until you know for sure because if he doesn't have scabies then the treatment could make whatever he does have even worse.Good luck to you and your son.
