I have been having a terrible itch, and I'm hoping that the people here can help me with it... if this board is even active anymore. I need to figure out if what I'm experiencing is something to be concerned about.
However, I'm a college student, so getting to a dermatologist is not an easy task. Anyway, my skin has recently been breaking out at random moments (most often when I shower) in these really strange... long, raised-up welts. I get them on my neck, upper arms, stomach, chest, sides, back, buttocks, and legs, but only a couple of places at a time. They go away after about an hour, but come back later.
I had been taking sulfa-based antibiotics for an ear infection, and I assumed I was allergic to that, but the itching never stopped, and it's been over a week since I stopped the medicine. In fact, I think it's getting worse.
The only thing that has changed lately is that I started using a new brand of body wash when I shower. However, the itching doesn't go away when I use something different.
I'd appreciate any thoughts you guys might have, if anybody's still out there. Thanks!
