This is gonna be a long one..lol...I'm researching all this for my mother whos, pc challenged. She lives with my grandmother and step grandfather taking care of them because they are in bad shape. She lived there for 2 years moved out for a year and moved back in october. When she came back my stepgf had this horrible rash type stuff on his back, i was there for 2 weeks straight taking care of them while my mother worked. I rubbed his back down several times with cortaid ect. I didn't even know what scabies were. What never made sense to me was i heard the name through out school and thought it was a dirty person thing, wow was i wrong. My grandmother is a fanatic like my mother and myself, with cleaning. It wasn't till the cleaning lady came and seen my stepgf that she said what it was. They even have a doctor who treats them at home, the only time they leave the house is to go to the cumadin clinic which is where my stepgf got them A DOCTORS OFFICE!! The doctor who visits their house didn't know what it was, ok makes ya stop and think what do they learn in 8 years of medical school? Oh i know they learn how to over charge you into debt! Anyway..My mother has now spent close to 5000.00 in chemicals, special rainbow sweeper costing 2195.00, new washer and dryer 2000.00 (that has an internal water heater to heat the water high enough to kill scabies), elimite, lindane, acticin, you name it she's tried it. I had her get melaluca oil, tea tree oil, MSM (powder by the pound). She has wrapped all the furniture in plastic, matresses, had A-1 pest control spray the house and had all the carpets cleaned, guess what they are still covered. i know my stepgf had been infected with these for at least 6 months, before my mother went back there. This house is infested my mother cleans from sun up to sun down. She tells me they come out of her hair and come down and bite her, for the longest time i thought she was nuts, her doctor put her on nerve pills. the doctor told her she was imagining all of this. On her way home from the doctor her hand started driving her insane she looked down she had 4 lines across her hand looked like a cat scratch, she got overly warm and they went nuts on her. She calls me in tears daily, she doesn't know what to do anymore, and she can't miss much more work or she'll lose her job, not many jobs you make 21.00 an hour at so i hate to see that happen. I've spent probably 80 hours in front of my pc researching to help her and i'm running out of ideas. With an infestation this severe what do you do? What makes no sense to me is my father and myself have been there cleaning helping and neither one of us have gotten them. Its been 6 weeks since i been there so i know i don't have them. I'm an herbalist kinda person i do internal cleanses of wormwood, cloves, and black walnut regularly. i was studing sulfur (msm) and had bought a pound of it before i knew about the scabies and was taking 1t daily internally maybe that kept me from getting them. From what i have read they can't live off of a host for more than 7 days, not sure thats entirely accurate. I advised my mother to close off one room at a time and open the windows because its so cold right now. Hoping maybe that might kill some off. I took all of her lotions and shampoos and added a few tablespoons of sulfur to all of it. I even ordered pomada de alzfure (not sure on spelling). All doctors wanna do is put pesticide on you. I think i'd rather kill the scabies not give someone cancer. So what i'm asking is how do you treat your hair, and home? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated..Thanks
